Meet Your Coaches

Ever Wonder Why You're Not Seeing Progress?

Most trainers in everyday gyms hand you a copy-and-paste program and barely keep track of your reps.

At CrossFit 103 you can expect something different—coaches who actually know your name, understand your goals, and push you toward the results you came here for. This isn’t generic training… it’s coaching built around you.

Nicolette Esposito

Nicolette found CrossFit in 2017 and immediately knew it would change her life. Within a year she earned her L1, later adding a USAW certification, and has since become one of CrossFit 103’s main coaches. A former competitive dancer, she brings discipline, artistry, and performance into her coaching, helping athletes refine movement and mindset.

To Nicolette, CrossFit is more than a sport—it’s the best hour of the day, a place to feel supported and connected. She takes pride in guiding athletes of all levels, creating a welcoming environment where strangers become family. For her, coaching is about building strength and confidence inside the gym so members can live with more resilience and purpose outside of it.

Thomas Malagreca

Thomas discovered CrossFit in 2017 and began coaching in 2018. In 2025, he became co-owner and head coach of CrossFit 103, where he leads with the belief that the best coaches are forged through their own athletic journeys. He holds both CrossFit Level 1 and Level 2 certifications and continues to study, train, and grow alongside his athletes.

His coaching philosophy starts with fundamentals and builds toward transformation—physical, mental, and emotional. Thomas is passionate about creating an environment where every member feels supported to push their limits and achieve more than they thought possible. Outside the gym, he enjoys hosting events and supporting local causes, seeing fitness as a way to strengthen community as well as individuals.

Alex Rosso

Alexander Rosso, now a New York City firefighter, has been immersed in CrossFit since 2013 and coaching since 2014. A CF-L2 coach and certified CrossFit Kids instructor, he brings more than a decade of experience to the floor. As a former competitive athlete with nearly 50 competitions behind him, Alex understands the physical and mental demands of training at every level.

He now channels his passion into helping others use fitness as a vehicle for freedom and fun outside the gym. His approach focuses on building resilience, teaching athletes to lean into discomfort, and turning negative self-talk into growth. For Alex, success isn’t just about physical results—it’s about helping people move confidently, push past limits, and live with more energy and joy.

Ryan "Murph" Murphy

Ryan Murphy has been coaching CrossFit athletes for more than a decade. With a background in endurance sports—Ironman triathlons, marathons, Hyrox—and natural bodybuilding, he brings a unique coaching mix to CrossFit 103. Murph has studied under top coaches across gymnastics, hypertrophy, and Olympic weightlifting, and has led programming and nutrition in past roles.

Now in his masters years, Murph jokes that his wife, son, and Cavapoo keep him off the podium at home. But inside the gym, his Sunday Funday classes are among the most popular on the schedule. He also organizes a monthly “Friendly Comp,” giving athletes a chance to test themselves in a supportive environment. Known for energy and humor, Murph’s coaching is about more than workouts—it’s about building a thriving community.

Barbara Jasionek

Barbara is a mom of two who first walked into CrossFit 103 in 2019 to keep up with her kids—and maybe outrun them someday. A lifelong runner and skier, she believes fitness should empower people to say “yes” to life’s adventures. Inspired by her own journey, Barbara earned her CrossFit Level 1 alongside her husband, Pawel, bringing her curiosity and love for learning into her role as coach.

Her supportive, down-to-earth style makes her classes approachable for every athlete, no matter the level. As a scaled athlete herself, Barbara knows that progress looks different for everyone. She believes movement should be accessible and fun, helping members build confidence, strength, and habits that last. Whether you’re starting from scratch or chasing new goals, Barbara is there to cheer you on every step of the way.

Vincent Crupi

Vincent began coaching in 2008 as a personal trainer, quickly noticing that many gym-goers spent hours training with little progress. After discovering CrossFit, he found a method that delivered real results—and it sparked a lifelong passion for coaching. With 17 years in the fitness field, Vincent has trained athletes of all levels and competed nationally in Olympic weightlifting, qualifying twice for the American Championships.

Beyond the gym, Vincent serves as a Registered Nurse and FDNY first responder, carrying the same dedication and care into every role. At CrossFit 103, he blends deep technical knowledge with an approachable coaching style that helps members build not just athletic ability, but health, confidence, and a better quality of life.

Eric Anderson

Coach Eric is a former soccer player and track athlete turned Physical Therapist, Personal Trainer, and Hybrid Athlete. Since earning his NSCA certification in 2016 and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2019, he has built a unique skillset spanning corrective exercise, endurance training, and functional conditioning. He is certified in HYROX, DEKA Fit, Spartan Race, TRX, Stick Mobility, and more—bringing versatility to every class.

Eric’s sessions blend smart programming with energy: themed workouts, curated playlists, unfamiliar variations, and constant encouragement. He believes proper form, pacing, and scaling are essential for long-term success. Outside the gym, Eric is a decorated hybrid competitor with podium finishes in Spartan, DEKA, and HYROX, and he’s on track to complete all 7 Abbott World Marathon Majors. His passion for movement, travel, and community shines through in every class he leads.

Jamie Rufano

Jamie has been part of the CrossFit community since 2015 and became an L1 coach in 2020. Outside the gym, she works as a licensed mental health and school counselor, where she sees firsthand the deep connection between physical and mental well-being.

At CrossFit 103, Jamie loves coaching kids and young adults with disabilities, helping them discover confidence through movement. Fitness is also family time—her two kids have grown up in the gym. For Jamie, CrossFit is about resilience, balance, and joy. She strives to make each class a place where members feel supported not just in building strength, but in building a stronger mindset too.

Libby Elias

Libby’s CrossFit journey began in 2014 when her boyfriend (now husband) convinced her to “try it out” while she was teaching Zumba. She fell in love instantly and started coaching a year later. Since then, she has become a CF-L2 Coach and USAW Level 1 Coach, competing in both CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting at local, national, and world levels.

Balancing a full-time career, family, and coaching, Libby embodies the everyday athlete. She understands the challenges of fitting fitness into real life and uses her experience to inspire others to find their own passion for CrossFit. Her goal is simple: to help members move better, feel stronger, and build a lasting community through fitness.

Michael Morgante

Mike Morgante is the owner and one of the head coaches at CrossFit 103. His journey began in 2013 at a Staten Island gym, where he quickly discovered a passion not only for training but for the sense of community it built. After years competing in endurance and obstacle course racing, he became a founding member of CrossFit 103 in 2017. Now a CrossFit Level 2 Coach with Gymnastics and Weightlifting certifications, Mike blends technical knowledge with a natural ability to motivate, inspire, and connect.

Before opening the gym, Mike spent nearly two decades as a DJ and emcee, learning how to set the tone, lead a crowd, and create energy people could thrive in. He now brings that same presence to every class—fostering an atmosphere of hard work, positivity, and connection. What fulfills him most is seeing members build strength, relationships, and confidence that extend well beyond the walls of CrossFit 103.
